We will be back training indoors this autumn within COVID guidelines, but we desperately need your help to make it happen.
As we communicated earlier in the year, Stroud Sharks is committed to following Basketball England (BE) Return to Play roadmap to get back to training and playing during the COVID pandemic.

The full BE guidelines can be found below.
The good news is we are currently at Level 2 which means we can return to training indoors as long as we follow the guidelines that are set out by the BE and ultimately the Government.

The level 2 guidelines headlines are:

  • No more than 30 people at each session (including staff and coaches)
  • No spectators
  • Everyone must complete a health screening questionnaire before they can train
  • Temperature must be taken before entering and signing in
  • Enhanced hygiene and PPE rules (sanitisers, cleaning of equipment, facemasks for coaches)
  • No handshakes, celebrations, shouting or high fives
  • No congregating in groups before or after the session
  • Anyone with any symptoms MUST NOT ATTEND
  • Anyone who tests positive after having attended MUST INFORM US SO WE CAN INITIATE TRACK AND TRACE PROCEDURES
  • There will be a break between age groups sessions to limit crossover of pick up and drop off and allow the coaches to clean and sanitize equipment

Obviously, if anyone has a temperature then they will be asked not to enter, and adherence to the guidelines, including any required paperwork, is a prerequisite for training with the club.
We must STRICTLY adhere to all guidelines laid out by the Government and BE whether we agree with them or not. Please be respectful of the volunteers and coaches.
We are working on the logistics of implementing these rules for the specific training locations we use (Marling and TK) to ensure a safe and fun start to the season.
As you can see, adhering to this is not going to be straight forward and in order to make this work we will need your help. We are desperate to find some parents/carers to volunteer to help us meet our commitments and make it safe for your children to get back on the court. Specifically, we need a team manager for the U11s and U13s and we will also need at least 2 more helpers to man the entry and exit doors on training nights.
Please, please if you can help then let us know ASAP, to be clear, unless we get some additional support at the sessions then we will not be able to start the season.
